Due to recent growth, we are currently seeking Mechanics and Technicians for routine, preventative, and repair maintenance at multiple facilities. The technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, servicing, and repairing of SalSon trucks, trailers, chassis, and other equipment. Technicians must be able to complete all fleet maintenance processes and ensure that units always meet SalSon specifications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Follows workplace and vehicle safety procedures consistently.
  • Follows MSDS training and guidelines.
  • Perform proper Preventive Maintenance such as; lube, filters, inspections, truck appearance, interior and exterior, cab related, safety checks, and security.
  • Perform DOT Inspections
  • Perform tires analysis such as; tread inflation, rotation, wear, and reconditioning of wheels.
  • Follow company-initiated housekeeping standards.
  • Perform basic computer skills for company-related initiatives.
  • Inspect/repair/rebuild/replace drive line components.
  • Remove and replace transmission and clutch (R&R), steering & chassis components, and Injector replacement / Fuel system diagnostics.
  • Perform facility and equipment inspections(safety & environmental).
  • Perform valve and injector adjustments.
  • Perform brake system diagnostics, air, hydraulic, and ABS advanced
  • Perform fifth wheel service and rebuild/ kingpin wear.
  • Perform diagnostic computer skills
  • Perform citation corrections and sign off.
  • Perform suspension inspection and repair
  • Perform advanced electrical engine electronics, lighting systems repair.
  • May perform basic accident repairs on tractors or trailers.
  • Must be able to communicate with internal customers (i.e. other shop associates, drivers, other maintenance shops, etc.) on such things as stances, wait times, reasons for repair decisions, and status updates.
  • Requirements
  • Have a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred) with an acceptable driving record.
  • Own necessary basic tools.
  • Technical or advanced degree or equivalent experience.
  • Exposure to windows based computer systems, preferred.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting competency relating to equipment repairs.
  • Successfully demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and customer service skills, including good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to lift and/or pull 75 lbs or more without restriction
  • Must be able to work outside in inclement weather conditions
  • Must be able to work in an environment with excessive noise and respiratory hazards without restriction
  • Must be able to stand or lie for extended periods in order to repair equipment
  • Must be able to have flexible movement: to reach equipment and/or parts and maneuver equipment
