POSITION SUMMARY
This position is a nonexempt position under FLSA. This position is responsible for inputting the daily bookwork from the Treasurer’s office, making the daily deposits for the Osage County Transfer Station, monthly billing for the Transfer Station and assists with taxes as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintains excel spreadsheet of County receipts and disbursements for quarterly report
- Processes daily bookwork envelope from the Treasurer’s Office
- Balances money received and transfers to the County Treasurer
- Maintains books and records for the Osage County Transfer Station
- Receives money and prepares bills for the Osage County Transfer Station
- Balances weekly game sales report
- Maintains emergency vehicle permits
- Maintains county inventory books
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
- Prepares Homestead Tax forms for customers
- Prepares genealogical reports as needed
- Assists customers at the counter
- Packs boxes for election polling places and assists with elections as required
- Answers incoming telephone inquiries and directs callers
- Performs other duties as deemed necessary or assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is subject to occasional supervision from the Osage County Clerk and Deputy County Clerk and has no supervisory duties.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED is required.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word; or equivalent software programs.
A job offer will be conditional on satisfactory results of a criminal history background investigation.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
One year of similar or related experience is required. Employee is expected to have acquired the necessary information and skills to perform the job reasonably well within six months of employment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from a group of managers, clients, customer, and the general public. Must have excellent English communications skills, including written, verbal, and listening.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
A thorough knowledge of bookkeeping and a working knowledge of mathematics is required. Employee must be able to operate basic office equipment with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. The ability to read and interpret written instructions and financial ledgers is required.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to operate computer, typewriter, calculator, copier, scanner, fax machine, postage meter and multi-line telephone. Willingness to learn new programs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
No adverse working conditions exist within this position. Working in an office setting with a computer is the primary aspect of this position.

Pay: $13.00 - $14.50 per hour
