We are looking for a Clinic Assistant to join us at our Medical Oncology Cancer Center in Weymouth, MA location. You will provide direct patient care and support the clinic’s operations.

Responsibilities:

· Serve as the first point of contact for patients and families and obtain patient identification upon arrival and ensure the patient and family have all necessary instructions for visit

· Obtain and record patients’ vital signs, pain screens, weight and height and report any abnormalities or changes to the medical staff

· Collects and labels any test specimens (urine, stool, etc.)

· Performs phlebotomy and EKG tests when necessary

· Manages patient schedule and ensures clear communication between patients, providers and medical staff

· Keep all clinical areas stocked with medical supplies, equipment and necessary forms

· Clean and sanitize equipment and care areas, which may include managing biomedical and chemotherapy waste hazards

· Determine if new or repaired equipment is needed in the unit

· Assist medical staff with medical record preparation

Qualifications:

· High School Diploma or GED; college coursework strongly preferred.

· Completion of an accredited clinical assistant program or medical assistant program strongly preferred.

· Phlebotomy certification is also preferred. In some cases, Nurse Students in an accredited bachelor’s program with at least 2 completed clinical rotations may be considered.

· Related experience preferred.

· BLS certification.

· Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
