General Responsibilities and Duties for Clinical Administrator:

• This position will serve as the subject matter expert regarding community based behavioral support services and treatment settings for older adults, brain injuries and dementia population particularly those transitioning out of state hospitals.
• This position will oversee DBHDS initiatives that support older adults, including nursing home resources, and a variety of community resources to serve individuals with dementia.
• Knowledge and expertise in contemporary best practices in behavioral health services and supports for older adults with complex mental illness and co-occurring disorders.
• Thorough understanding of the nature and process of recovery for older adults with mental illness, co-occurring disorders and related conditions.
• Knowledge of best practices related to providing behavioral support to individuals with dementia. Ability to apply recovery concepts and other constructs to service development, service delivery, and quality improvement approaches for older adults with complicated behavioral health, co-occurring, and comorbid conditions.
• Ability to apply knowledge and expertise to support timely, safe, and collaborative discharge planning and integration of individuals in community supports and services. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications and Skills for Clinical Administrator:

• PHD/PsyD Clinical Psychology with at least 5 years of previous work experience with older adults , behavioral health, dementia and brain injuries conditions.
• Previous experience in project management is preferred.
• Education and/or experience related to behavioral health disorders and neurocognitive disorders in the older adult population with complicated behavioral health, co-occurring, and comorbid conditions, the problems associated with these conditions, and best practices for maintaining quality of life in the most integrated setting.
