Job Duties

The purpose of this position is to serve as a Clinical Social Worker on the units, primarily the Admissions Unit and to provide Assistance in the delivery of the full array of Social Work services to patients.

Some knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) needed to successfully perform in this role:
Considerable knowledge of the principles, practices services and techniques of Social Work specifically with psychiatric geriatric population
Knowledge and ability to effectively interview, establish treatment plans and provide effective clinical intervention
Knowledge of the Social Work Code of Ethics
Communicate effectively orally and in writing
Ability to work effectively with an interdisciplinary team

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited school or university, MSW required, LCSW preferred
Experience with therapeutic counseling, conducting psychosocial assessments and discharge planning requirement

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in inpatient psychiatric facility with mentally ill older adult patients is preferred
Knowledge and experience in implementing psychiatric recovery principles is preferred
Experience in a team treatment setting is preferred
