Clinical Staff Development Specialist
At KidsPeace, the OD&T Clinical Staff Development Specialist is responsible for the orientation, training, and development of KidsPeace associates in all programs and departments. The Clinical Development Specialist serves as a partner with program / department leadership in the mentoring and development of new and veteran staff as well as participates in the implementation and auditing of program design within KidsPeace. This member of the OD&T maintains a special focus on clinical training including KidsPeace clinical training events, continuing clinical education, and the orientation of new associates in a clinical role. The Clinical Staff Development Specialist also serves as a TeenCentral administrator, a lead responder on the KidsPeace Oasis Response Team and will assist the Clinical Training Manager in meeting the demands of clinical training contracts which come through Spyglass. The Clinical Staff Development Specialist reports to the Clinical Training Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master's degree in appropriate discipline required, license preferred.
Training experience preferred. Proven expertise in public speaking, training, and training development required.
Direct care experience in a KidsPeace program preferred but not required.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Computer skills with experience in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, nights, and weekends as needed.
JOB DUTIES:
TEENCENTRAL ADMINISTRATOR: The Clinical Staff Development Specialist will function as a TeenCentral (TC) Administrator (Admin). TC Admins work with TC counselors on a rotating basis to monitor stories submitted to TeenCentral.com during their assigned times. The TC Admin has 24 hours to review the story response from the TC counselor, edit it and post it to the TeenCentral.com site. TC Admins are also responsible for responding per their training to any flagged stories in a timely manner. TC Admins work with the TeenCentral.com Director to develop and update content to the TeenCentral site ongoing.
TRAINING/INSTRUCTION - Design, develop and deliver ongoing and new relevant training programs for the organization. Provide in-class instruction as needed or required to meet department goals, including instructing all levels of current approved KidsPeace restraint methodologies and practices.
CLINICAL TRAINING - Assist with all tasks related to the provision of continuing clinical education and clinical certifications to KidsPeace associates. Design, develop and deliver ongoing and new relevant clinical training for the organization. Provide in-class instruction as needed or required to meet department and organizational goals.
MENTORING/PERFORMANCE CONSULTATION - Under the direction of the Clinical Training Manager , orient new associates in the program setting, supervising the GAP competency development process and Cohort learning structure. Contribute to ongoing learning and development for all staff in program and department settings as needed and requested.
COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT AND DEVELOPMENT - Under the direction of the Clinical Training Manager ensure that associates meet all required/mandated trainings and or training hours and keep up all certifications. Comply with specific requests for training/competency development as put forth by the organization or department.
PENNSYLVANIA OASIS RESPONSE TEAM - Function as a Lead Responder for KP Oasis Response and report to the Pennsylvania Site Coordinator/Clinical Training Manager for direction in this role.
SPYGLASS - Serve as an active trainer meeting clinical training contracts that are required through Spyglass under the direction of the Clinical Training Manager.
PROJECTS/ASSIGNMENTS - Assist and help coordinate projects and administrative responsibilities consistent with the departmental or organizational staff development initiatives.
REGULATIONS - Assist in assuring compliance with all regulatory, accrediting, licensing, legal and other operational authorizing bodies in the area of training and competency development. Participate in licensing reviews and accreditation processes as needed.
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTRIBUTION - Participation in corporate and interdepartmental committees or work groups as needed.
QUALITY ASSURANCE - Help to assess quality assurance measures for KidsPeace training and development and assist in the development of ongoing measures and instruments to evaluate competency development effectiveness for the corporation.
