Join Ingalls Memorial as a Private Duty Clinical Supervisor in the Home Health Care Department
The Private Duty Clinical Supervisor supervises overall daily clinical activities of field employees for private duty staff. Provides direct supervision to the RN/LPN/CNA staff. Works with the department staff and director in setting departmental goals and objectives, and setting and reviewing departmental policies and procedures. Assists departmental director in providing supervision and direction to office staff and on call scheduling staff. Assess, implements, and evaluates care of clients serviced by the division. Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
Essential Job Functions

  • Assists with direct and coordination of inter/intra departmental activities as they relate to direct client care.
  • Assists Director with interviews, orientations, training, and counseling or subordinate staff. Makes recommendations for hiring and disciplines and discharges subordinate staff.
  • Reviews schedules with Scheduling Coordinator, as needed, to assure adequate staffing and scheduling of qualified staff.
  • Assists Director to oversee daily activities of department to optimize productivity of staff and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Assists Director to assure departmental compliance with external and internal (agency/divisional) regulatory and accrediting agencies and authorities.
  • Assists Director and Scheduling Coordinator to arrange in-service and educational programs related to departmental and staff needs and provides learning opportunities for all staff members.
  • Maintains and assists Director with development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental policies, procedures, and programs to ensure departmental growth and effectiveness.
  • Assumes supervisory/administrative back up to On-Call system.
  • Assists Director in completion of special projects or programs as assigned.
  • Demonstrates understanding of Corporate Compliance and adhere to agency Corporate Compliance Plan.


Required Qualifications
  • Current RN licensure in State of Illinois.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience is required.
  • Experience in field of Home Care or Private Duty is preferred..
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills needed for dealing with insurance companies, managed care personnel, patients, families, physician offices, physicians, field staff, and co-workers and others.
  • Ability to work closely with Director, staff, and ancillary departments to maintain optimum open communication within the agency and to establish necessary services, supplies, etc. for patients.
  • Ability to problem solve, prioritize, and make decisions on health care problems and issues.
  • Ability to interpret and implement agency policies and procedures.
  • Ability to supervise licensed and unlicensed staff.
  • Possesses and maintains a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance and has the availability of personal and dependable mode(s) of transportation to conduct home visits.
  • Current CPR certification required.

Must comply with Ingalls Memorial Hospital's COVID-19 Vaccination requirement as a condition of employment.
