Position: Clinical Technician | Footprints to Recovery CO | Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm

Clinical Technician (CT) supports clinical and non-clinical staff as well as building administration in the provision of technical and auxiliary clinical services to ensure comprehensive and effective daily programming and functionality. The Clinical Technicians are primarily responsible for UDS collection, monitoring collection schedule, and tracking patients. The CT serves as primary point of contact with designated laboratory, reviews all results, and communicates as appropriate. Further, as client “support staff”, the CT spends more direct time with the clients than any other position, and as such, are the lead role models in helping the clients to rebuild new lives. Requires maintaining a positive, productive attitude, even when clients may be argumentative or non-compliant.


Job Duties: Clinical Technician


  • Collect, monitor, and document urinalysis samples and breathalyzer screenings
  • Takes lead on communication with the Lab, preparing orders for Fed Ex daily and as needed
  • Send out daily email communications to clinical staff on UA results/ UA schedule
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of all supplies and storage closet, and advise supervisor when supplies are due to be ordered
  • Provides and assists with patient transportation daily and as needed
  • Provides group facilitation on relapse prevention and life skills, up to four groups per week
  • Responsible for monitoring clients throughout hours of operation, including a walk-through of the building every 15 minutes as assigned
  • Responsible for ensuring and maintaining the cleanliness of the building
  • Ensure compliance with Federal Regulations pertaining to client confidentiality
  • Provides back up support for reception needs
  • Provides support to clinical staff and medical staff
  • Ability to accommodate a flexible schedule 1-2 days per week for Evening IOP (ie. 12:00PM-8:30PM)

Requirements:

  • Ability to understand and interpret laboratory results from UA’s and ability to communicate findings to treatment team
  • Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work with constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Understanding of Trauma Informed Care and how that pertains to client services and working environment
  • Ability to document accurately in medical record and within mandated timeframes
  • Ability to work efficiently and thoroughly
  • Must have strong ability to multi-task
  • Must have knowledge of all Microsoft office suites including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc.
  • Ability to work 8 hour shifts between the hours of 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM
  • Current CPR certification
  • Experience and knowledge in the field of Substance Use Disorder
  • Experience with collecting UA’s/BA’s and analyzing results

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree
  • Experience with EMR’s (Electronic Medical Records)
