Job description
We are looking for Cloud Operations Engineer for an immediate need. This is a client-facing role & the candidate will have regular interactions with various client managers.Responsibilities
Design and develop tools to automate cloud platform management.
Operate our AWS Data Infrastructure composed of different services like RDS aurora (MySQL and PostgreSQL), Redshift, DynamoDB.
Support developers using database best practices as well as doing workload analysis and performance tuning.
Collaborate across the organization to improve operations, efficiency, and customer experience.
Develop and maintain automation for routine management processes.
Develop and maintain monitoring, diagnostics, and debug tooling to improve detection and response to application and infrastructure issues.
Drive innovation through the ongoing evaluation, design, and implementation of new technology.
Provide continuous feedback to the Product, Engineering, and Cloud Operations teams.
Analyze and troubleshoot infrastructure issues, identify their root causes, and implement improvements to prevent their recurrence.
Respond to incidents and contribute to retrospectives and postmortems.
Mentor other Cloud Operations team members and champion best practices within the team.
Qualifications
Overall 8+ years of in software engineering.
4+ years building and maintaining AWS infrastructure and/or AWS-hosted applications.
4+ years of experience Windows and Linux Administration
Previous experience working on a 24x7 cloud or SaaS operation team.
Strong knowledge of DevOps Platform tooling including Infrastructure as code automation (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation).
Experience with container technologies and orchestration platforms (Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with terminal command line environments like Shell, PowerShell, or Bash.
Experience with modern scripting languages. Python preferred.
Understanding of Web technologies - HTTP, SSL/TLS, REST APIs.
High availability design and implementation across AWS services.
Database technologies and maintenance (RDS, Aurora, PostgreSQL, Redis).
AWS networking and routing technologies (VPC, security groups, Route53, ELB).
AWS security technology and practices (KMS, SSM, Secrets Manager, encryption, IAM, Security Groups).
