Job description

PURPOSE

Assist hospital personnel in the delivery of patient care by accepted policy and procedures.

SCOPE

Provides assistance to hospital staff, patients, and visitors within the limitations of appropriate training / certification in accordance with hospital policy, and under the supervision of an RN or LPN.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Answers call lights, bells, phone or intercom system to determine patient or staff needs.

Takes and documents patients' vital signs plus food and fluid intake and output as directed.

Bathes, dresses, undresses, toilets, and provides primary patient care.

Serves, feeds, and collects food trays from patients needing assistance.

Transports patients or assists patient with ambulation using proper body mechanics.

Drapes patient for examinations / treatments and assists as needed.

Turns and repositions bedfast patients regularly to prevent skin breakdown.

Straightens patient rooms, and cleans bedside tables, etc. as needed.

Attends 10 of 12 Nursing Department Meetings annually.

Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
