Northern Giant Co. is a startup custom wood sign manufacturing company – launching February 2023. We are a small team ready to go “giant status” with new crew members to help establish an effective and efficient wood sign production workflow. Once live, our intuitive website will offer customers nationwide (and CA), an easy and fun way to customize and order wood signs for their residences, businesses, shops, farms, ranches, lake houses, cabins, special gifts and more.

We are in search of a rockstar CNC machinist to lead production from the ground up. As production hire #1, this candidate is expected to wear many hats as we create systems and processes for production that will drive growth, order volume and high-quality products for our customers. This candidate will work closely with the Creative Director/business owner, Marketing Team, and Graphic Designers.

This role is part-time contract with flexible hours with option to work out of our small temporary workshop with a new XCarve Pro 4x4 in Bainbridge Island WA. OR the candidate can work offsite if they have access to all required machinery and equipment to produce and ship orders. Based on performance and company growth, this role will lead to a full-time machinist/management position leading junior operators.

Responsibilities:

• Operate (CNC) machines.
• Translate STL files for production.
• Material prep, finishing treatments including sanding, staining, painting, coating.
• Read and use measuring instruments for precision measurements.
• Install, adjust, and maintain CNC machines.
• Set-up CNC machines for different materials and configurations.
• Operate CNC machines to manufacture parts.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
