Ava’s Hospitality Group is currently seeking a Cook to work at our Commissary, which prepares food items for our four restaurant concepts including Ava’s Pizzeria & Wine Bar, Theo’s Steaks, Sides & Spirits, Hammy’s Burgers & Shakes, and High Spot. The Commissary is an integral part of our success at AHG as we grow! Some of our signature food items prepared here daily include homemade mozzarella, dough, meatballs, and various dressings.
The Commissary Cook will work at the Commissary in Easton, MD and report directly to the Commissary Manager. This is an hourly paid position, starting at the rate of $18.00 per hour.

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following qualifications:
- Self-driven and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Sharp attention to detail for quality control
- Familiarity with production equipment and machinery; prior production experience preferred
- Knowledge of proper methods of storing, rotating and packaging food service items and supplies
- Ability to load and unload delivery vehicles using proper lifting techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time as well as lift, carry and move up to 50 pounds
- Schedule flexibility to work evenings, weekends and overtime as needed to meet business volume
- Participate in the preparation of food items for packaging including mozzarella, dough, meatballs, and dressings
- Ensure the production process runs smoothly while following all safety guidelines
- Inspect finished products to ensure AHG quality standards are met
- Fill and process incoming orders from restaurant locations; load onto delivery truck(s) for transportation
- Meet assigned schedules and deadlines for orders and inventory
- Establish a strong working relationship with Commissary team members and manager; communicate effectively to ensure efficient production and adherence to timelines
- Assist with receiving incoming deliveries by unloading and inspecting shipments for damage and conformity to invoice specifications and packing slips
- Sort, label, shelve and store delivered items
- Operate a variety of equipment including floor jacks and dollies as well as central kitchen equipment, specifically VMAG 500, GSM175 Floor Mixer, Comat FV05 Mozzarella Machine, and other standard kitchen equipment
- Clean kitchen/production equipment after each use and ensure equipment is properly maintained
- Keep a variety of records related to central kitchen production, maintenance, inventory, and assigned tasks
- Follow all safety and sanitation practices in order to adhere to company-specific, state, and federal health and safety regulations
