Summary:
Executes sales activities for assigned customers and territory through maintaining relationships with existing customers and prospecting new business development opportunities with new customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sales plans for assigned territory that align with overall Commodity team strategy to drive new business through opportunity conversions
- Independently prospect and develop new and existing relationships with customers to grow Trident’s commodity market share, providing a consultative sales experiences for customers and internal stakeholders
- Stay up to date with Alaskan species, catch methods, and fisheries that Trident Seafoods harvests and produces
- Drive volume and best company returned aligned with corporate goals and expectations by leveraging and analyzing data to guide sales efforts and make informed business decisions
- Manage trade and travel expenses for assigned territory to maximize results.
- Deliver effective product presentations and business reviews (both virtual and in person).
- Negotiate pricing and coordinates on-boarding of new customers within assigned territory.
- Partner with other internal departments (Customer Service, Category Management, R&D, Marketing, Credit, Finance, Supply Chain/Forecasting, Operations, QA and Sales Support) to efficiently and accurately conduct sales transactions.
- Prepare periodic sales reports showing sales volumes, potential sales, and areas of opportunity.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Crosstrain within the Commodity team for fresh and frozen products processes coverage.
- Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
- Acts as a trusted informational resource for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Creates and presents to customer on various sales related themes.
- Regular travel within market to support customer needs and business purposes.
- Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions.
- Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
4+ years sales or account management experience
Education:
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous work experience in Alaskan commodity seafood sales
- Basic accounting skills
- Superior customer service, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), CRM and SAP proficiency is desirable
- Ability to work remotely out of home office in NE or SE US
- Experience in the seafood industry preferred
