About Vine Maple Place (VMP)
VMP is a fast-growing, faith-based nonprofit company devoted to ending family homelessness in South King County. We serve homeless and vulnerable single parent families and their children providing housing services, workforce development, financial empowerment, behavioral health support, life skills and child & youth programs. Our approach offers safety, provides stability and equips to self-sufficiency. Due to the homelessness crisis in King County, VMP is expanding to serve more families in need. Families show great success in the program: 91% maintain stable housing one year after exiting the program.
Job Summary
The Communications and Marketing Manager (CMM) is responsible for managing all aspects of digital and direct mail communications, the annual major fundraising event and the donor database system. The CMM plans and implements data-driven program and campaigns; tracks, evaluates and reports on campaigns and events; and adjusts to marketing and fundraising data including donor target segments to meet fundraising revenue goals. The CMM oversees and aligns all channels of fundraising communication and messaging, ensuring alignment with VMPs mission and vision to drive results. This position is critical to reaching the annual fundraising goals to meet the needs of homeless parents and kids.
Responsibilities
Digital and Direct Mail Marketing
- Develop, maintain and implement a master fundraising communication schedule, including all digital marketing and fundraising campaigns, project deliverables, and deadlines.
- Collaborate with the Development Team to drive fundraising outcomes and communicate fundraising schedule.
- Generate a system to track, analyze, evaluate and report on fundraising campaigns, utilizing the donor database to meet department objects.
- Identify challenges and strengths in communication across donor segments to propose improvements and assist with decision making alongside the Director of Development to meet fundraising goals.
- Ensure all digital content standards, including social media and VMP Website, working with and managing digital design.
- Oversee and develop all brand collateral with graphic designer.
- Develop and maintain a broad understanding of VMPs mission and vision, Path to Stability and key program aspects in order to effectively portray this information within fundraising campaigns.
Annual Major Donor Event
- Plan and execute annual major fundraising event; planning venue, coordinating sponsors, scheduling and coaching speakers and organizing logistics. Ensure excellent execution and results, with follow up.
- Develop, maintain and cultivate Fundraising Committee.
- Oversee recurring donor cultivation events.
Donor Database
- Implement and maintain system in place for timely and accurate tracking of all gifts, solicitation and donor information; ensure tracking and fulfillment of pledges, donor recognition, receipting and timely acknowledgement.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agree to the VMP Statement of Faith.
- Be passionate about helping families overcome the trauma of homelessness.
- Embrace diversity and work effectively with a diverse team of professionals; sensitivity to the needs of clients, staff and volunteers from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Fundraising, Communications or related field and 3-5 years of experience, or equivalent.
- Proficient computer skills to include MS Office, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel.
- 3+ years CRM Database experience.
- Nonprofit marketing and event management experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Required Credentials
- Must pass and maintain an acceptable background check.

- 6 days of floating holiday per fiscal year, after 6 months employment, prorated first year.
