Position Title: Communications & Marketing Director
Reports To: Vice President
Position Status: Full Time
Position Classification: Exempt
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Communications & Marketing Director is responsible for maintaining communication between members and the Chamber, including managing the Chamber’s website and social media platforms, creating and distributing regular email updates, and creating visual contact across multiple platforms. This potion also serves as a liaison to the Downtown Russellville Streetscape Project Committee and the Community Engagement Marketing Committee. This is a safety-sensitive position.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains professional communications on behalf of the Chamber via all social media platforms and websites.
- Develops and distributes weekly e-blast to all Chamber Members.
- Creates and distributes effective communication and media releases with membership and community stakeholders via mass email, Chamber website, and social media
- Designs, produces, and distributes all Chamber marketing materials and programs
- Responsible for creating, implementing, and measuring: A comprehensive marketing, communications, and public relations program that will enhance the organization’s image and position. All marketing, communications, and public relations activities and publications, media relations, as well as managing distribution of materials
- Coordinate media interest and ensure regular contact with target media
- Work closely with the staff to ensure all Chamber Program information is communicated with Committee Members, the Board of Directors, the Executive Committee, Employees, the General Membership, etc.
- Develop and update reports as required by the staff
- Lead projects as assigned, such as cause-related marketing and special events
- Assists with event management and production, including but not limited to online web promotion, marketing plan & design; communications; media & public relations; event photography.
- Keep informed of developments in the fields of marketing, communications, public relations, not-for-profit management, and governance, and use this information to help the Organization operate with initiative and innovation
- To perform any other duties within the scope of the position to meet the needs of the Chamber
Education and Experience Requirements & Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Communication or related field. Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Minimum four years experience in a communications role. A combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the requirements indicated above
- Must have a current, valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Knowledges & Skills
- High level of personal integrity and ethics.
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications, and public relations activities.
- Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational, and personal sales skills.
- Understanding and working knowledge of HTML, Canva, and a variety of Adobe platforms including InDesign, Creative Cloud, Photoshop, Lightroom, Acrobat, Illustrator, and other graphic design and marketing software programs.
- Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment, meeting deadlines as required.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to develop and sustain business relationships.
- Excellent writing skills with extensive knowledge of grammar.
- Demonstrated skills in taking initiative, problem-solving, and driving results.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite projects and CRM databases and software.
- Highly detail-oriented with superior organizational skills.
- Willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
