Position at a Glance:
The Community Health Worker (CHW) will be responsible for helping clients and their families to navigate and access community services, other resources, and adopt healthy behaviors. As a priority, activity will promote, maintain, and improve the health of clients and their family. Provide social support and informal counseling, advocate for individuals and community health needs. Community outreach, such as home visits will be required.
This Community Health Worker position is for the State Opioid Response (SOR) Program. The person in this role will support clients and provide resources for prevention, early intervention, treatment, and recovery support to people dealing with addiction.
Wages: $15.76 per hour

What You'll Do:
- This position will work with individuals who are struggling with addiction and/or working on their sobriety.
- Community Health Workers can support long-term recovery by addressing these social determinants to increase access to care and improve the quality of care. They provide nonjudgmental emotional support and mentoring to individuals affected by addiction.
Qualifications:
- Verifiable good driving record and reliable transportation.
- Personal experience (self or close family member) with addiction.
- High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Successful completion (or willingness to complete) of a Community Health Worker formal training program such as from a college or other education institution.
- Peer Recovery Support Specialists preferred or related experience. (individuals that have been successful in the recovery process and help others who are experiencing similar situations)
