HUMAN RESOURCES GLOBAL BUSINESS SERVICES: COMPENSATION ANALYST USA/CANADA

SOUTHFIELD, MICHIGAN – WORLD HEADQUARTERS / Hybrid Remote


As a member of the global HR GBS team, the HR GBS Compensation Lead will manage the services delivered by the USA / Canada HR GBS Compensation Administration team against defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Accountable for identifying opportunities for process improvements and technology enablement to drive overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Compensation service delivery and an optimal experience for Employees interacting with the Compensation support team.


This role supports the Global Compensation Team, HRBP’s, and business managers to support compensation matters in the USA and Canada. In this role you will evaluate positions, pay grades, perform additional compensation analysis, annual salary planning process and bonus programs. Candidate must demonstrate comprehensive understanding of compensation fundamentals.


The Role:

Your work will include, but not be limited to:


  • Process Ownership (for Region)
    • Provides regional leadership for end-to-end Compensation Admin process; responsible for initiating, executing, and managing regional Compensation Admin process improvement initiatives
    • Determines and communicates strategy for end-to-end Compensation Admin including process design and standardization, policy development, technology enablement, and implementation approach
    • Determines and implements process governance strategy for Compensation Admin process activities and performance; accountable for process SLA’s / KPI’s across the region

  • Service Delivery Excellence
    • Oversees HR GBS Compensation Administration service delivery (including case management; transaction processing, data processing, and data analytics/reporting) for the Region
    • Manages and maintains HR Case Management technology and Employee Portal / Knowledge Management content for HR GBS Compensation Administration services
    • Partners with Regional HR GBS Leads to establish the criteria for delivering Compensation Administration services as part of Global Process Owner (GPO) initiative
    • Ensures that HR services provided are delivered in accordance with all internal policies and procedures, local, regional, and national laws and regulations with guidance from HR Business Partners and internal counsel

  • Compensation Administration Management
    • Supports and manages the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs for the Region.
    • Monitors the effectiveness of existing compensation practices and recommends changes that are cost-effective and consistent with compensation trends and corporate objectives.

  • Measurement & Continuous Improvement
  • Oversees service quality, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and continuous improvement of services delivered by HR GBS Compensation resources
  • Stays current with trends and best practices in the service center and service delivery industries, and continuously improve cost, quality, and timeliness of Compensation services & vendors
  • Enhances and improves all Knowledge Management and Employee Portal content (articles, policy documentation, standard operating procedures, etc.) related to Tier 2 Compensation services
  • Manages results and data analytics for progress and continuous improvement on an on-going basis, recommending adjustments as needed

Your Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in Comp administration
  • Experience in leading and managing internal and external teams
  • Customer facing and total quality background preferred
  • 2-3 years in a service center environment preferred
  • Vendor management / vendor relationships in compensation administration services
  • Regional experience / perspective
