Computer Numerical Control Swiss Machinist -- Pennsauken Township, NJ
Job description
The CNC Machinist is responsible for operating and setting up computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce machined parts. They also ensure the maintenance of quality and safety standards, keep records, and maintain equipment and supplies.
Primary Job Functions:
- Set up and operate CNC machines according to required tolerances
- Perform challenging CNC Machinist work, such as progressive machining of various parts and different metals
- Ensure product quality by adhering to operator-owned quality standards and requirements
- Perform routine maintenance based on daily machine checklist and PM schedule
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing and Good Document Practices at all times
- Ensure safe working practices are implemented
- Achieve productivity targets as set by the management
- Identify and support Continuous Improvement activities
- Maintain 5S/housekeeping standards in the work area
Qualification Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED; Associates degree/certificate in Tooling & Machining or Machinist apprenticeship preferred
- 3 – 7+ years of CNC Swiss experience
- Ability to operate, set up, and maintain CNC machines
- Strong math skills, including measuring and record-keeping
Proficient in:
- GD&T
- G-Code
- M-Code
- Machine Setups for Production Runs
- Manual Machining Skills
Machines & technologies used:
- CNC Swiss Lathe
- CAM Software
- CNC Lathe (5+ axis)
- CNC Lathe (2-4 axis)
Salary info:
$24 - $30 / hr
