The Gathering Spot is looking for a Curator to join our Connected Cities team in a contractor role. This person will report directly to the Head of Connected Cities and assist with all aspects of member events and market activation in Chicago. This role will heavily focus on event ideation, planning, and execution.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Propose member events that meet member engagement metrics

• Coordinate with venues and vendors to execute events

• Source talent for workshops and panels

• Attend and facilitate in-person events

• Acting as an ambassador for The Gathering Spot at events

• Recruit and refer potential members to join The Gathering Spot

Job Requirements:

• Strong network of personal contacts across a variety of industries

• Experience producing and curating events

• Exceptional people skills and the ability to build relationships with members and key people & businesses in the city

• Detail-oriented, excellent prioritization, time management, organizational and follow up skills

• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time during events.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
• Must be able to work a variety of hours in order to accommodate events.
