Job description
Kleinfelder has the position Construction Project Engineer / Resident Project Representative (Field Position) available for a qualified individual with field observation experience and a passion for infrastructure construction projects.
This role serves as the liaison between Kleinfelder's Project Team, the General contractor, and the Owner. The individual must have strong communication and technical skills to make clarifications in the field while work is being completed.
Requirements:
- Must have a fundamental understanding of contracts and familiarity with codes and laws governing construction.
- Must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications and identify discrepancies or conflicts within documents.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.
- Complete and maintain records of field observations, including daily reports outlining the work performed, as well as field measurements and computations for the quantity of completed work eligible for payment.
- Good interpersonal and communications skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Basic knowledge or ability to gain working knowledge of quality requirements for construction materials.
- Tactful.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Work will be on-site (general disclaimer about safety requirements and hazard exposure).
- A BS degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Managment, A/E or Related.
The project location is in Covington, Ohio. This is a 1.5-2-year project, starting in May 2023. The project is for 18.5 million in improvements to the WWTP (wastewater treatment plant) as well as off-site utility and Pump Station improvements.
