Onsite Construction Superintendent - Quality Control Manger (CQCM) - Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO), will be responsible for managing and performing the daily responsibilities related to the physical construction of new and repair/renovation projects ranging from $1,000,000 to $50,000,000, and to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with the project Quality Control Plan and Safety Plan. Depending on what project is assigned, you must be able to perform as a Safety Officer, or Quality Control Manager, or both. The CQCM reports directly to Valiant Head of Construction for the sake of assuring that a conflict of interest does not occur among the productivity, schedule, and the quality objectives of the project. The CSSHO reports directly to the Valiant Site Project Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
- The CQCM role includes direct oversight and review of the entire documentation and physical inspection phase of the workflow process and working with other in-house personnel (e.g.: Project Managers, Superintendents, etc.), and external personnel to produce and document a quality product.
- Performing all of the major QC activities required to construct the project at hand and to provide in a timely manner the written documentation described in each project’s specific contract documents as follows.
- Create, update, and maintain the project submittal log and all other project specific quality control reports.
- Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with proj4ect specifications by direct review and by leveraging the knowledge and experience of others in the project team when necessary.
- Chair and document weekly QC meetings with the Project Manager or Superintendent and provide written minutes as described in project specific contract documents.
- Provide written daily QC reports that reinforce activities that are being constructed in conformance with each specific project’s established standard and constructively confronts non-conformances to produce the desired outcome in a timely manner.
- Conduct preparatory, initial and follow-up meetings to establish an understanding of the standards of care desired for each definable feature of work.
- Verify that checklists are being used and signed off prior to the placement of concrete, steel and other similar items of work.
- Verify and document that all materials received for the project are in conformance with the approved submittal, are handled and stored appropriately and are acceptable for use in the project.
- Conduct preconstruction meetings with new and existing subcontractors and the superintendent at least two days prior to the start of each new phase of work to discuss issues that affect quality.
- Document these meetings in the daily QC report and Preparatory Phase reports.
- Schedule, document the results of, and maintain a log of all code and independent inspections that are required. Clearly document, correct, and re-inspect all nonconformance prior to covering up work.
- Conduct periodic follow-up inspections to verify that work is proceeding with the contract documents and the approved submittals (Desired results come from what is inspected, not what is expected).
- Coordinate and document the testing and commissioning of building systems.
- Document and distribute pre-punch lists, punch lists, and the completion of these lists.
- Document final inspections, certificate of occupancy and acceptance of the works and various phases thereof.
- Maintain the project “as-built” drawings daily.
- Assemble and forward project closeout documents that include O&M Manuals, as-builts and warranties.
- Stop work if necessary to resolve matters that affect safety, quality and/or inhibit the logical progress of work.

- Minimum (5) years’ Construction Project Management experience required. Education Requirement.
- The successful candidate should have sufficient work-related experience. A BS or MS [Engineering/Construction Management] graduate is not required but would be favorable. Knowledge of relevant Construction Management policies, procedures, and practices.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Thorough understanding of reading construction drawings.
- Thorough understanding of MEP building systems.
- Thorough knowledge of building code compliance and safety standards is essential.
- ASHE – Healthcare Construction Certificate, OSHA – 30 HR Construction Safety & Health (Preferred but not Required), CPR/First Aid/AED Certification (Preferred but not Required), US Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management for Contractors (Preferred but not Required),
- Travel
- Mandatory- Applicant must be mobile and able to move from between project locations upon completion.
- Education – shall have: Minimum (5) years’ Construction Project Management experience required

- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Reasoning Ability - Apply to common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fraction, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Physical Requirements - Project manager for this position is required to: Work in a sitting position for 8 or more hours per day, Stand, walk, bend and step in industrial environments on a frequent basis.
- Have sufficient vision, either natural or corrected, to identify safety signs, warnings, etc..
- Lift up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds as needed, Travel to job locations by automobile and/or commercial airline.
- Have sufficient hearing, either natural or corrected, to respond to alarms, sirens, etc.
