Commonwealth Home Owner Services is looking for an experienced Construction Worker in the Tacoma and Puyallup area. The ideal candidate will have experience in landscaping and/or construction. Facilities maintenance experience is a plus. This person will be able to take direction from a supervisor and work independently.

Summary:

This construction position is a general laborer who has at least a year of experience with residential construction and remodeling and/or commercial construction tasks including basic carpentry, material handling, demolition, and job site clean-up. Candidates will be able to follow direction, demonstrate self-motivation, and will work to complete projects in a safe and timely manner utilizing the highest quality of workmanship.

Position Responsibilities:

Perform construction tasks including demolition work, unloading and moving materials, framing, exterior installation of windows, doors, and siding, and interior installation of sheetrock (hanging/mud/tape), tile, flooring, fixtures, trim, hardware, cabinetry, paint, caulk, etc.

Assume other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• 1+ years’ construction experience, residential, multi-family and/or mixed-use construction projects

• Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, and drawings and specifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, speaking English fluently, bilingual is a plus.

• Current driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from the job site.

• Assists other maintenance workers as needed with other projects.
