Job Summary:

The role of the Consumer Affairs Associate is to ensure consumers (complaints, compliments, requests for information) are responded to in a timely and professional manner to satisfy consumers and customers (to the extent possible) to protect HP Hood’s reputation. Collaborate with internal teams, to include Quality, Sales, R&D, Operations, Marketing, through CRCS system so product issues and opportunities can be tracked, addressed and reported promptly and accurately.

Essential Duties Responsibilities:

  • Respond to phone calls, emails, and mail from customers with questions, comments and concerns about HP Hood and other branded and private label products.
  • Process product replacement and reimbursement
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of brands, products, including label information, website information approved product descriptions, basic nutrition and ingredients information, as well as company approved policy statements and ongoing branded consumer promotions.
  • Understand general quality, safety and nutrition principles to independently resolve or escalate to R&D and/or Quality for further review/information.
  • Work collaboratively with Quality Assurance, R&D, Sales, Operations and Public Relations to monitor quality issue trends and respond accordingly.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a consumer affairs or similar telephonic position

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  • Must be Well- organized with the ability to multi-task, as well as possess strong time management skills.
  • Proficient knowledge MS Office platform, specifically MS Word.
  • Ability to manage difficult or emotional customers, and provide prompt responses to the needs of all customers.
  • Possess the ability to speak clearly and persuasively in all situations, either negative or positive.
  • Establishes and maintain effective relationships.
  • Generates suggestions for improving work
  • Adapts to new technologies; uses technology to increase productivity.
