A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CONSUMER FOODS PROJECT MANAGER
nAs a Consumer Foods Project Manager in sustainable technology, you play an essential role in leading a project team of internal partners, contractors, and subcontractors for mostly type B and C projects. You ensure that deliverables are consistently on time, within budget, and in line with customer expectations. Prior to beginning a new project, you make sure the project schedule baseline is approved. You also provide an execution strategy and conduct final negotiations.
nIn addition, you ensure project deviation is properly managed as well as assess, approve, and expedite the technical aspects of change orders. You also define effective claim strategies for customers, partners, subcontractors, and others. Using your exceptional organizational skills, you prepare and perform project reviews and facilitate brief meetings, ensuring all site-related documents are delivered to the correct site personnel.
nYou develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure all project operations run smoothly. Keeping our processes in good shape, you establish prevention and detection internal controls, which address potential risks of inefficiency, ineffectiveness, fraud, abuse, or mismanagement with reasonable assurance. You also implement and maintain operating standards to guarantee quality project results and customer satisfaction.
nAs needed, you provide guidance and support to your project team members, as well as participate in continual learning activities and integrate newly acquired practical applications into your work. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A CONSUMER FOODS PROJECT MANAGER

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in electrical, automation, or mechanical engineering or a related field n
- 3+ years of experience in a lead project engineering role OR an equivalent combination of education and experience n
- Experience in or knowledge of the milling industry, food processing, bulk material handling, or agriculture n
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and SAP n
- Ability to travel up to 15% of the time n
- Strong leadership skills n
Knowledge of 3D Mechanical, Architect, and Gantt is preferred. A PMI certification would be a plus but multiple factors will be taken into consideration.
