12 hour shifts; 3a-3p or 3p-3a; rotating days and weekends. The position reports to Maintenance.

Role / Title:

Service, maintain, troubleshoot and repair meat processing and packaging support equipment to include ammonia refrigeration, boilers, Water/Sewer, and compressed air systems. Perform mechanical maintenance, electrical/electronic, and sanitation duties as assigned by Mechanical Team Leader.

Key Components of the role:

  • Work with and under direct supervision of Team Leader and/or Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Maintain/repair/rebuild/process related systems and/or components.
  • Learn Standard Cleaning methods and assist with scheduled plant clean up.
  • Assist/perform in production related functions as needed/or requested by the Team Leader.
  • Comply with all plant policies, safety regulations and industrial hygiene regulations as a condition of employment.
  • Provide technical assistance and/or participate in PSM/KSRMP committees as requested.
  • Provide communication between Engineering and Operation teams as engineering representative on operational teams/committees.
  • Use all maintenance systems as directed.
  • Perform any related system function correctly and accurately.
  • Utilize detailed steps in performance of all PM's by following steps and adding to or questioning when appropriate.
  • Keep work area clean and perform shop clean up as directed or necessary.
  • Know and follow GMP rules/procedures.
  • Promote and support organizational goals and culture.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Operation or Team Leader.
  • Maintain compliance individually with performance against Maintenance KPI’s.
  • Maintains compliance with Kraft Heinz -Kirksville Safety Policies & Procedures.
  • This position also has accountability for QRMP standards as outlined in the Kirksville, MO, QRMP accountability document.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to work any shift that is assigned.
  • Positions involve lifting, bending, and stooping.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • 3-5 years of Industrial Maintenance experience or equivalent technical school or college level course work.
  • High School Diploma / GED required. AA or Technical degree/training preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing experience and basic computer skills.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • Basic understanding of Meat Process.
  • Learn to use the SAP.
  • Must demonstrate the following: professionalism, high ethical standards, a positive and a cooperative attitude.
  • Must also have strong analytical, organizational, administrative, interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Attend required training as needed.
  • Must hold Ammonia Operator Level 1 Certification within 6 months of start date.
