Position Details:
Summary of Duties:
Responsible to manage contracts for WSU's Capital Projects including A/E consultants, specialty consultants, contractors, and other contracts consistent with public works statutes and regulations.
To support WSU's ability to attract talent in a competitive job market, this recruitment has been approved for a hiring incentive payment of up to $2,500. Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree involving a major study in business administration, public administration, business law, commerce, economics, mathematics, statistics, or closely allied field OR additional qualifying experience may be substituted, year for year, for the required education. AND One year of experience in negotiating, administering, or terminating contracts, contract property management, contract cost or price analysis, or contract compliance administration. A Master's degree in one of the above academic disciplines may be substituted for the required experience. A law degree from an accredited college or university approved by the Washington State Bar Association may be substituted for the required experience and education.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of experience preparing specifications and bid documents, correspondence, contracts, change orders, and completion notices for public works projects.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve and facilitate harmonious working relationships with others. Experience editing, proofreading, and/or typing large technical or legal documents.
- Experience with computer-based business information systems and experience utilizing spreadsheets, databases, etc., to analyze and present information.
- Five years' experience or training in contract administration, construction, or project management.

Monthly Salary: Range 47 | $3,821 to $5,136 A-M | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
