Job Title: Cook

Job Summary:

A Cook is responsible for meal preparation and cleaning tasks to assure excellent quality food preparation and high standards of service to the residents. He/she should maintain a safe and sanitary work atmosphere as required by the Department of Health guidelines.

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:

A minimum of two (2) years of cooking, prior cooking experience, or knowledge of cooking preferred. Experience working with the elderly preferred but not required.

Skills:

Possess the ability: to communicate effectively with older adults, work as a member of a multidisciplinary team, possess the ability be creative in food preparation and follow the regulatory requirements of the Department of Health.

Physical Requirements:

Should be able to: stand on his/her feet for at least 8 hours, bend and lift or carry at least 25 pounds using good body mechanics and lifting techniques, tolerate extreme cold or hot temperatures for brief periods of time, and learn the proper use of knives, meat slicer, and other kitchen equipment.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
