The Moorings of Arlington Heights is looking for a Cook I to join our Dinning Team.

Shift: Rotating shift (Minimum 8 hours per week)
Salary at $17.00 - $20.50 based on experience
Shift and Weekend Differentials where applicable!
Main Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of this position is to prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Executive Chef, Sous Chef and/or Director of Dining Service to assure that quality food service is provided at all times. Under the supervision of the manager on duty, the cook is responsible for food preparation, including accompaniment and garnishes. May be scheduled in any dining area and must have knowledge of preparation for all dining areas.
Requirements:
Language Skills: Ability to read, understand and speak basic English to perform essential functions of the job. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, recipes, production sheets, temperature logs, safety rules, MSDS sheets. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute recipe conversions, purchases vs. served, and pan yields.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry-out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Qualifications: Working knowledge of food handling, preparation, production, standard kitchen equipment, food safety and sanitation.
Ability to understand recipes, production sheets, and inventories.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Food Handler’s Permit required
