Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay is currently hiring a Cook for Independent Living.

We have immediate openings for:

• Full Time (6am - 2pm)
• Full Time (8am - 4pm)
• Full Time (12pm - 8pm)

What will I do?

Our Cook prepares food in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations, with our established policies and procedures, and as may be directed by the Lead Cook, Sous Chef and /or Executive Chef to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times. Responsibilities include but not limited to hot food preparation, including accompaniment and garnishes.

• Prepares recipes with multiple processes
• Occasionally prepares hot entrees for both lunch, dinner, and special events
• Has Intermediate proficiency in all recipes
• Is able to work several kitchen stations
• Assists other cooks when working a more job specific-station
• Assists in special function preparation and execution

What do I need for this role?

• Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age
• Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds or more
• Capable of standing and maneuvering independently and safely around work areas
• Capable of standing on a tile floor for an eight-hour shift
• Ability to see and hear, or to use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that position requirements can be fully met
• Sufficient manual dexterity to operate a fire extinguisher and to manipulate kitchen equipment, including slicer, chopper, processor, knives, etc.
