Primary Functions:
Provide to support for all human resource functions in the areas of recruitment, on-boarding, training and employee events.
Duties and responsibilities:
  • Participates in benefits administration, including claims resolution, approval of invoices for payment, distribution of annual employee notices as required and assisting with benefits reporting requirements.
  • Participates in recruitment efforts for nonexempt personnel (helps coordinate the use of temporary employees; maintains applicant flow logs).
  • Process employees’ queries and respond in a timely manner.
  • Assists with new-employee orientations; administers pre-employment tests; conducts reference checks.
  • Runs reports and completes and maintains applicant and current employee EEO records.
  • Assists in payroll process and time and attendance records maintenance.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database as needed.
  • Assist with all hourly recruiting needs. Through a strong and effective recruiting function, continuously enhance and build upon the organization’s strong brand in the community.
  • Track data and provide feedback to the HR Manager to lower attrition rates across the company.
  • Assist with the facilitation of new hire orientation, employee/leadership and training programs.
  • Maintenance of employee personnel files, headcount report, data entry/maintenance of the Workers Compensation Claims.
  • Assist with special projects and other HR initiatives, as assigned.
Requirements (education, experience, travel, physical, work environment):
  • Associate degree in HR or equivalent experience in related field
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of Human Resources experience preferably in a mfg. environment
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance
  • Must be trustworthy with highly confidential information and the ability to maintain confidentiality at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels within the organization.
  • Good problem-solving techniques and project management skills.
  • Excellent PC skills in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.
  • Ability to operate both as a business partner and employee advocate.
  • Working independently in the absence of supervision.
  • Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships.
  • Able to handle an emergency situation calmly.
  • Ability to work in a courteous and professional manner with the public and employees.
  • Ability to communicate, listen and direct employees to the supervisor, plant manager, or personnel coordinator as necessary regarding policies,
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend and verbally communicate simple instructions, short correspondence and memos in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to deal with a variety of changing situations.
