Laboratory Purchasing Coordinator Position Summary

The Lab Purchasing Coordinator has the overall responsibility of keeping the Laboratory Storeroom stocked with essential reagents, chemicals and supplies for the Inpatient Laboratory, in addition to both internal and an increasing number of external laboratory customers. He/she is charged with purchasing, properly storing, distributing routine supplies, purchasing equipment and office supplies for set up and maintenance of outreach labs. He/she is detail-oriented, resolves ordering issues, and mindful of cost constraints; tracks usage of supplies and charges in all areas and adjusts purchases for optimum utility/value. He/she interacts with vendors, Lab Manager, Materials Management, Value Analysis Committee and others for cost analysis, budgeting, reporting, and any inventory issues.

Laboratory Purchasing Coordinator Position Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Some College is preferred.

Experience

• Laboratory experience is preferred.
• Experience purchasing Laboratory supplies is preferred.
