Job description

Job Profile Summary

Performs engineering activities at a subject matter expertise level such as design, construction, planning, optimization, analysis and troubleshooting for pipeline operations, plant operations, measurement, maintenance, compliance and other engineering and operations type work.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Direct, perform, coordinate and/or approve engineering and/or project management activities related to design, procurement, construction, or optimization of company assets including but not limited to:Transmission and/or gathering systems, measurement and regulation facilities, compressor and pump stations and dehydration plants

NGL fractionation, natural gas processing and/or hydrocarbon storage facilities
Construction plans and implementation
Management of third-party contract resources

  • Provide technical and/or engineering assistance on matters including but not limited to:Equipment/system design

Pipeline sizing and evaluation
Pipeline control
Pipeline facility design, construction, operation, and maintenance
Policies and procedures
Process Safety

  • Direct, perform and review and/or approve project management activities including but not limited to:Bid proposals and contracts

AFE preparation and cost management
Management of Change (MOC)
Material/equipment specifications and selection
Construction plans and support
Creating and updating schedules / timelines
Preparing project progress and other reports
Managing change orders

  • Provide subject matter expertise and oversight into work by engineers regarding equipment efficiencies, hydraulic calculations, valve and pipe sizing and gas flow analysis.
  • Review and approve information including but not limited to:Engineering studies

Governmental rules, regulations, codes, and standards
Pipeline and/or measurement system analyses and recommendations
Hydrocarbon processing and/or measurement bid proposals
Construction and/or measurement contracts
Cost estimates
Material specifications/selections

  • Oversee analysis and evaluation of various pipeline systems and review recommendations for improvements related to capacity, operating costs, and system operation. Act as a subject matter expert to the organization for various engineering activities; mentor less experienced engineers
  • Evaluate proposed projects by conducting load studies
  • Evaluate various measurement system designs and make recommendations ensuring implementation of improvements related to station capacity and operating costs, to increase accuracy of measurement systems and downstream reporting systems
  • Analyze, perform, and approve economic analysis related to potential new projects, including but not limited to operational cost estimates, determining equipment efficiencies, and needed enhancements and reviewing and conducting studies for potential acquisitions
  • Recommend new processes and formulate new ideas; take lead role during implementation of new processes Anticipate changes in work demands and identify assignments or training to meet those demands
  • Oversee utilization of manpower and equipment resources
  • Assess, schedule, and prioritize projects on customer needs and value to the organization
  • May have oversight of employees engaged in field operations, construction and/or project management function

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or closely related field and the following job related experience preferred

Work Experience

  • Experience and training related to:Transmission/gathering pipeline operations

Gas measurement and regulation activities
Processing and/or storage operations
Company/governmental operating and safety procedures
Pipeline stress/strain analyses
Industry best practices and design philosophy

  • Experience and knowledge of engineering design and criteria for natural gas and/or NGLs in pipeline systems
  • Experience at this level is typically attained with fifteen or more years of experience in engineering, operations and/or project management
  • Experience achieving goals and developing employee/team strengths, exhibiting a positive example and influence that leads to employee, project, and stakeholder successes
  • Experience in use and function of applications such as: Microsoft Excel, Project, Access, Word, etc.
  • Experience researching and preparing project materials and design specifications, contracts, agreements, budgets, engineering studies, and other relevant reports, forms, and correspondence
  • Experience identifying, researching, evaluating, and prioritizing operational problems and determining appropriate action/response
  • Subject matter expert in pipeline or hydrocarbon processing and related facilities design, construction, operation, and maintenance
  • SME level experience with material failure and structural analysis and extensive knowledge of industry standards and governmental regulations
  • Experience reading and interpreting governmental regulations, blueprints, contracts, manuals, specifications, surveys, charts, load studies, and other relevant reports and correspondence
  • Experience reviewing and approving complex engineering drawings and material

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $140,751.01 - $200,000.00 per year

Experience:

  • Corrosion Engineer: 10 years (Preferred)
  • Plant/Refinery exp. in corrosion mitigation: 9 years (Preferred)
  • CCD/IOW development is a requirement: 10 years (Preferred)
  • corrosion control 4 plants (acid gas, microbiological,: 9 years (Preferred)
