Anchor Bay Packaging Corporation specializes in the engineering and manufacturing of JIT (Just in Time) packaging. We are currently looking for a Cost Estimator/Process Engineer to join our team. This job will be based in the U.S. and the role will report to the Manager of Estimating of the US. We are currently implementing Epicor, which is an end-to-end fully integrated ERP. This role will be local to the New Baltimore area and will be primarily on-site in our administrative location. This position is an entry level hourly position with potential for full time hire after 90 day probationary period.
- Analyzing requirement documents, specifications, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project
- Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product
- Preparing material estimates and cost estimates for the product or service
- Creating labor estimates for any project, with assistance from manufacturing if necessary
- Obtain and review initial quotes from vendors
- Create and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons
- Work with purchasing regarding vendor costs
- Develop a strong understanding of all manufacturing processes through necessary cross-training
- Perform on-site labor evaluations, by manufacturing process, to validate information
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred, not required
- Proficiency in Excel
- Excellent communication skills
- Superior teamwork skills
- General familiarity with the packaging industry and process
- Experience in a manufacturing facility preferred
- Self-starter, attention to detail, strong problem solving skills
