Utility Hours: Monday-Thursday 5 am - 3:30 pm

Fridays are currently Mandatory Overtime - 5 am - 1:30 pm

We NEVER work Saturday or Sunday!

A counter presser works as part of a 3-5 person team to run a machine that creates excelsior pads or blankets.

Counter Presser Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Tapes loose ends of paper wrap on product.

Ties strings on packages.

Starts and stops conveyor with foot feed.

Cleans area.

Notifies Pad Operator, Supervisor and Quality Department of deficiencies in product.

Makes sure UPC Labels are on products.

Stacks finished product on conveyor, pallets or floor as needed.

Inspects materials and products at each step of packaging process.

Reworks deficient product.

Rotates jobs with other Counter - Presser or Pad Packagers as needed..

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Steel/composite toe boots/shoes and safety glasses are required. The working conditions are noisy and dusty; associates are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.

Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen (including THC) and pre-employment physical.

Compensation/Benefits: Starting pay is $19.50/hr and wage increases to $20.08 after passing the 30 day probationary period, with another raise anticipated in August.
