The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (“NHMLAC”) was the first museum in L.A. to open its doors 108 years ago and is poised for an exciting new era as it plans for the future. Reporting to the Digital Product Manager, the CRM Administrator manages and oversees the CRM Database; creates and maintains the data dictionary, administers data security and sets database security levels, ensures the database is functioning at optimal levels; heads all database updates, changes and/or modifications and develops and writes detailed data dissemination policies and standards to ensure databases remain consistent across departments at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage all CRM configuration, maintain existing features and products, and partner with stakeholders to design and implement new features that optimize the tools for ticket sales, member retention and acquisition, major gift, and community engagement.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations, maintenance and future use of the Museum’s CRM.
  • Coordinates the key data migration aspects of the project – principally the migration of Millennium data into CRM, ensuring that the data mapping from source solutions to CRM is correctly completed, test migrations are performed and the results reviewed correctly, the mass data migration is performed, a migrated data validation is undertaken and any data rework/re-migration is performed successfully.
  • Leads reviews of data migrated into CRM with experienced Museum staff members; identifies key data quality points and measures to confirm that migrated data is of a high quality and that data quality is maintained once the CRM solution goes into production.
  • Analyze existing systems for improvements, define business requirements, provide solutions and recommend best practices; troubleshoot, document and report systems concerns to software manufacture and appropriate NHM staff.

This position has the following requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in data science or related field with 2+ years experience working as a Database Administrator
  • Understanding and strong working knowledge of relational databases & database design (MSSQL / mySQL). SSIS/SSRS experience
  • Experience with cloud CRM solutions such as Dynamics365, Talisma CRM, Oracle CX, Salesforce. Functional knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred, including familiarity with:
    • Dynamics 365 out-of-the-box configuration capabilities and modules
    • Stack supporting 365 customizations (C#, Javascript, SQL)
    • Dynamics data integration processes
    • Dynamics PowerApps solutions
    • Power Automate and Dynamics workflow
    • Current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
  • Ability to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides
  • Detail oriented with excellent organization, analytical thinking, communication, data analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to plan and take initiatives to accomplish objectives in timely manner; ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with project team members, supervisors, and employees from other departments.

The NHMLAC is seeking applicants who have demonstrated experience and commitment to working with a diverse community. Salary range for this position is $74,000.00 - $79,000.00 with experience plus excellent benefits. This is a full-time regular, exempt position.
