PET/CT Technologist - PRN/Per Diem

Coverage from Boca Raton, FL to Stuart, FL

This position is PRN/Per Diem and travel is required. The hours for this position will vary from 20-40 per week, with possible weekends. Location for travel ranges from Boca Raton to Stuart. Travel/mileage is reimbursed! You must have credentials to perform CT's as well as nuclear medicine studies.

The PET/CT Technologist is responsible for the day to day effective management of the department in accordance with all current regulations regarding the service.

What you’ll do:

  • To run the PET/CT, CT department on a day-to-day basis, being fully conversant with and complying to all current regulations surrounding a PET/CT service
  • Follow all duties as a Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) registrant (standards of conduct, performance and ethics)
  • Follow all Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) standards of proficiency
  • Create the right environment for all staff to work effectively together as a team, using the GenesisCare Values as the benchmark for this
  • Line management of a Senior Radiographer and HCA. Develop them within the business and carry out 121’s, half year and full year reviews
  • Support the Centre Leader in the development of the service offering and implement new services
  • Be an active part of the SMT (Senior Management Team) at the Centre
  • Maintain safe and effective working practices, including the operation of equipment and systems in use in the center
  • Ensure that all patients experience the highest levels of service, in line with the agreed expectations for treatment within GenesisCare centers
  • Ensure that relevant GenesisCare clinical audit, radiation protection, quality assurance and health and safety requirements are met
  • Work closely with the senior management team to support the on-going improvement and continuous development of the care and services provided across GenesisCare and to promote the on-going success of the company
  • Travel as necessary

Experience and Skills:

  • Able to demonstrate at least 3years post qualification experience with progressive development in that time
  • Experience in all aspects of PET and CT scanning to a very high level of competence
  • Evidence of empathetic and a holistic approach to patient care
  • Strong understanding of governance
  • Experience of proactively evolving PET/CT techniques
  • A wide range of clinical skills
  • Evidence of collaborative working
  • Evidence of effective organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills
  • Able to work flexibly to achieve GenesisCare business objectives

Qualifications and Knowledge Required:

  • DCR (R) or BSc (Hons) in Radiography (or equivalent)
  • MSc or equivalent in Nuclear Medicine
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • A strong level of understanding of the legislation relating to Ionizing Radiation/Radiation Protection, Environment Agency and Health & Safety
  • Knowledge of current trends and developments in radiography equipment and techniques
  • Good understanding and knowledge of medical terminology and drug/medication names/disease pathways encountered in Radiography/CT/Nuclear Medicine
  • Current State license
  • CPR certified and dual registry ARRT (R)(N)(CT) or ARRT (R ) (CNMT)
