Customer Service Manager Job Description
Position Summary
Leads and motivates customer service team to ensure they are providing the best customer service by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Identify, build and drive best known practices for customer service procedures, policies, and standards; ensure procedures are followed.
- Identify and utilize BKP training/develop for Customer Service team.
- Supervise day-to-day operations in the customer service departments.
- Develop, maintain, and utilize Customer Service dashboard and KPI’s.
- Manage order coordination/customer service for 3pl locations, including onboarding, identifying, and driving improvements for day-to-day order activities.
- Build and develop relationships with key customers.
- Improve order entry time and accuracy through training, and automation activities.
- Respond to customer service issues.
- Develop, improve, and drive customer satisfaction goals and coordinate with team.
- Work closely with Branch Managers, Sales, and Operations team to meet company goals and customer satisfaction while driving operational efficiencies.
- Identify and act on cost savings opportunities within the Customer Service group while driving customer satisfaction and branch efficiency.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages the Customer Service team. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include customer experience, and building/supporting the team by interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
Syspro, Microsoft Office Suites, Workday and Kronos
Other Qualifications
Must have valid driver's license and be able to travel up to 15% of the time.
