- High School Diploma or GED, with business curriculum preferred and (1) year of experience
- Must have experience working in Microsoft programs, specifically Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of managed care criteria and insurances.
- Must be able to obtain, ACT 33/34/73 (criminal, child abuse and FBI) clearances upon hire
- Must be willing to travel between sites
SCHEDULE (Full-time)
Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, rotating Wednesdays 12:00 pm - 8:00 pm. This position will be working at different Pittsburgh Mercy locations.
(This is a non-exempt/hourly position)
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re currently looking for a Patient Access Representative for our integrated primary care office, the Pittsburgh Mercy Family Health Center and the Uptown Clinic, to act as a member of patient care teams engaging with patients and their families as a first point of contact in person for our patients. The Patient Access Representative works on a team to coordinate our medical provider’s schedules, performs clerical and administrative functions (prepping correspondents, sorting mail and faxes, scanning); answers the office telephone; schedules, reschedules and cancels patient appointments; and verifies and maintains patient demographic and insurance information, which may include insurance authorizations, and preparing and maintaining patient medical records. We are looking for a professional that has the experience with clerical/administration functions, confidentiality, verifying insurances, multi-tasking and works well within a team-based approach.
