Purpose/belief statement:
Call off Specialist position exists to provide staffing coordination to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times. This position must work effectively with team members in ensuring that work is accomplished in a timely, effective, well organized, and safe manner, while focusing on delivering quality resident care. The position must also manage the resources that are available to them in their job.
Job duties & responsibilities
· Take necessary steps to ensure that sufficient members of nursing staff are on duty at all times.
ü Communicates with staff related to not attending their scheduled shift
ü Communicates continuously with facility administration or designee to ensure coordination of information and maintain accuracy of nursing schedule across multiple locations.
ü Communicates with staff through designated workflows in order to find alternative employees to cover shifts employees are not able to attend.
ü Prepares tracking log for all shifts called off by employees
ü Follows center policies and procedure for use of agency and in-house pool.
· Performs attendance and paid time off administration for nursing staff.
ü May perform attendance records tracking and notifies supervisors when disciplinary action is appropriate in accordance with policies and procedures.
ü Ensures at least one other staff member is oriented to the Call off Specialist position in the event of vacation, sick leave, etc...
· Perform all other general and/or specific administrative staffing duties required.
ü Creates and maintains forms necessary for completion of Call off specialist’s tasks.
ü Attends mandatory all staff in-services.
ü Respects the confidentiality and dignity of staff and residents.
ü Provide staffing sheets from day (days prior) and performs all necessary adjustments in the proper software.
· Perform other related activities as assigned or requested.
· Maintain and work within established departmental, center, and corporate policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, and safety, environmental and infection control standards.

Qualifications & Experience requirements
· Preferably a BS or BA in Business Administration, Human Resources or any related field
· Prior scheduling experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality environment
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
· Understanding of resident rights and care procedures and standards, within the scope of healthcare
· Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
· Ability to deal tactfully with staff, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
· Excellent customer service skills
· Must have patience, tact, and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult people
· Computer literacy and skills including Microsoft software including but not limited to Excel, Word, and Outlook.
· Prior Scheduling software experience preferred
· Ability to openly communicate at all levels of the organization
Work environment
· May work beyond normal working hours, on weekends and holidays.
· Is subject to frequent interruptions.
Physical effort/demands (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices)
· Ability to move (sit, stand, bend, lift) intermittently throughout the workday.
· Ability to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds.

· Ability to function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and ability to work effectively with staff and support agencies.
· In good health and demonstrating emotional stability.
· Ability to cope with the mental and emotional stresses of the position.

· Must be able to read, write and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
Sensory requirements (With or Without the Aid of Mechanical Devices)
· Ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
