The School of Physician Assistant Studies in the College of Medicine is seeking candidates with skills and experience in data analysis and visualization for a new Data Management Analyst II position. You will use these skills to evaluate program, course and faculty efficacy, along with student progress data for accreditation purposes. Responsibilities to include data collection and management, effort tracking and reporting, course evaluations.
About Us
The University of Florida School of Physician Assistant Studies is a continuous 24-month, full-time educational program that accepts new students once a year to begin in late June. The program strives to prepare physician assistants in a broad range of medical and surgical knowledge and skills and educate them to provide high-quality and compassionate health care to diverse patient populations under the supervision of a licensed physician.
Every Physician Assistant Program must be accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) and must continue to renew its accreditation at intervals determined by ARC-PA in order to remain in operation. This role is vital component of ensuring the University of Florida School of Physician Assistant Studies continues to meet accreditation standards and our own standards of excellence.
About This Role
Database Development, Reporting, and Visualization
- Designs and/or develops specific databases for collection, tracking, and reporting of evaluation data, as appropriate to the position.
- Develops, maintains, and ensures quality control of databases and may assist in development and implementation of measurement systems.
- Maintains files with statistical programs and operational files for data collected for educational research projects.
- Performs routine statistical analysis of educational research data.
- Responsible for data collection and report production as guided by the Associate Dean and Director for the University, College of Medicine, for use in the self-study process, accreditation, faculty reviews, curriculum development, etc.
- Responsible for monitoring data related to student progress and developing data visualization reports.
- Responsible for annual reporting of data related to School graduates and their employment as required by the national physician assistant organizations, i.e. the Physician Assistant Educational Association (PAEA) and the American Association of Physician Assistants (AAPA).
- Drafts standard evaluation reports to include descriptive statistics tables and graphs. Compile data for the School of PA Studies. Data Summary reports for each course and clinical rotation and distribute to the course directors, and the appropriate faculty committees for their review. This includes descriptive statistics and item analysis information for examinations given in all PA courses.
- Summarize data for use by deans, department chairs, and course/clerkship directors.
- Design and construct tables and graphs to display research and evaluation data in a simple and straightforward manner.
Data Collection
- Works with faculty and administrators to develop and administer appropriate assessment tools to evaluate students, faculty, courses, and programs in the University of Florida College of Medicine.
- Coordinates the collection and dissemination of data related to student performance, faculty teaching effectiveness, and the evaluation of courses and clinical rotations.
- Responsible for timely development, distribution, and collection of data from questionnaires and longitudinal surveys administered via Qualtrics online software.
- Consults with faculty and administrators of the School of PA Studies and provides individual training as necessary.
- Clean and check data sets to ensure data integrity.
- Develop, document, update, and maintain analytical data files and databases.
- Manages data to assure accuracy and completeness in reports, files and database.
- Responsible for generating surveys of clinical preceptors and for data entry and report production of all responses, for review by the Associate Dean, Director of Clinical Education and SPAS leadership team.
- Responsible for generating annual faculty and staff surveys.
- Responsible for generating annual surveys related to School graduates and their employers including data collection, data entry, compilation of data, and production of summary reports of demographic and clinical practice data.
Effort Tracking
- Develops standard processes needed for coordinating the effort tracking and reporting for all courses for the College of Medicine and the University of Florida reporting systems.
- Create Faculty Assignment Report (FAR) for each faculty member each semester.
- Set up Academic Activity Report (AAR) for each course each semester.
- Complete Effort Certification each semester.
- Complete any corrections and AAR changes needed
- These actions require coordination with faculty and staff and use of School resources and data.
Academic Course and Faculty Evaluation
- Develops standardized processes for coordinating the collection of all evaluation data for academic courses and faculty, including each course director, section director and lecturer, who are evaluated for each course.
- Evaluations are set up for each section of each course, so that students can complete evaluations.
- Instructors are added in Course Development or through Registrar's Office before or during semester.
- Communication provided to students and faculty as needed.
- Evaluation data is distributed to Associate Dean and Director and appropriate School faculty in order to review curriculum and ensure learning objectives.
- Evaluations for College of Medicine faculty and guest lecturers are prepared.
- Data is downloaded saved on Restricted drive.
- Provide evaluation data to prior lecturers as needed.

$54,000 to $60,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.

Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
Knowledgeable in various software programs and technology platforms. Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Tableau, R or Python, UF GatorEval and/or Effort Reporting, desirable. Self-motivated and accountable. Accuracy in recording, synthesizing and reporting data for program evaluation. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines. Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
