Job description

The position requires working independently in a fast-paced computing environment, responding to the needs of RRD clients for automated data processing, management, and reporting. Work includes building data and ETL solutions that support our customer’s business needs: validation, standardization, error detection, removal of extraneous data, calculation, reconciliation, information append, data mining, relational repositories, reporting, and historical storage.


Data may cross-server platforms using tools commonly available in Windows and Cloud environments. Primary connection protocol and automation tools include API, AWS, SFTP, WatchFTP, WatchDirectory, Apache NIFI, and Windows Task Manager. Programming tools: Python, SAS, Redpoint, Ignite, Syncsort, SQL, HTML, .Net, C#, JavaScript, batch files, VBA, Powershell


Job Responsibilities:

  • With guidance, create data processing instructions by interpreting specs written by the business analyst, client, or other sources.
  • Develop a proficiency in the understanding of data hygiene macros and the purpose of each
  • Work with the technical development team to incorporate changes and updated logic into existing workflows
  • Process orders using hot folder and/or user interface techniques
  • Develop a working knowledge of creating/programming ad-hoc projects
  • Execute necessary data processing steps including record selection, field parsing, record splitting, data standardization, removal of extraneous data, data append, duplicate elimination, and mail stream preparation.
  • Perform reporting functions and file delivery as required by specs.
  • Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving as required.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers via emails or phone calls.
  • Document processes and organize them for effective retrieval.
  • Handle multiple tasks and projects.
  • Be a contributing team member on projects that cross multi-disciplinary functions.
  • Continuously seek new knowledge.
  • Support sales and marketing functions.


Required Skills
  • Ability to learn how to execute open source utilities and perform basic programming using available tools in Redpoint / Ignite
  • Manage personal workload in a busy environment with conflicting demands
  • Effectively work as a member of a team
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.


Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or discipline related to the functional role
  • 1 or more years of equivalent work experience where the candidate can demonstrate a strong knowledge of data computing or analyst skills along with excellent problem-solving capability
  • Programming skills are strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Access, and Visio
  • Experience in direct marketing is beneficial

The national pay range for this role is $51,900 to $91,500 / year. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
