Data Specialist - Student Support Services

Job Description:
Prepares state and federal reports for Special Education. Compiles and analyzes data regarding special education programs. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community members and school clientele.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
  • Intermediate experience with Excel and looking at large data sets
  • Experience using Google Suite
  • Some data visualization skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Experience with reporting preferred
  • Experience with a student information system preferred

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Occasional lifting five (5) to ten (10) pounds
  • Frequent sitting
  • Occasional bending, squatting, or standing

ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
Mostly clean and comfortable

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):

Responsibilities:
Coordinate with the Colorado Department of Education to align with district processes, procedures, and data systems
Collaborate with district directors to align district processes, procedures and data systems with Federal and State reporting requirements
Research, collect, and maintain data for Special education
Compile statistics and prepare regularly scheduled/ special reports as required by federal, state and district regulations.
Support the Special Education department by providing data in a visually appealing, easy to understand format so that the department can make strategic decisions.
Prepare and submit the electronic transfer of all required student information following specific data requirements and timelines to the Colorado Department of Education using various data information systems
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Interact with the Colorado Department of Education, various state and local agencies, departments, and schools.
Coordinate and assist federal, state, and internal auditors.

Education:
High School or Equivalent (Required)

Skills:
Collaborative team player, Effective oral and written communication skills, Has the ability to meet attendance standards and work the hours necessary to perform the essential functions of the job., Maintains a generally positive attitude, Observes all District policies and procedures, Strong organizational and time management skills, Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.

  • All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
