Description:

This is a high impact and exciting position that will assist in the development and support for Valiant BI, an internal & external online platform used by Valiant Residential & their clients. This individual will be responsible for shaping the future of this platform in close collaboration with the senior leadership team. This individual will extensively utilize their SQL, python, data warehouse/modeling skills to further develop the Valiant BI platform into a scalable and performant cross-BU analytics platform.

Role and Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain

  • SQL databases including queries, tables, views, stored procedures, and data aggregation
  • Azure Data Factory / Synapse ETL pipelines, data flows, SSIS/SSRS configurations, and code repositories.
  • Production notification processes to efficiently track and report the status of automated jobs.
  • Python script repository to access and update data from vendors, using APIs to connect & update datasets
  • Monitor and tune existing SQL and Python code for improved performance, continued functionality, and data loads.
  • Ensure the quality and accuracy of data by creating automated testing scripts
  • Work with Power BI developers to optimize and migrate current data models and measures into SSRS packages / paginated reports.
  • Plan and prioritize activities. Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Estimate effort involved in completing various development tasks and report progress on a weekly basis.
  • Apply industry software development standards and best practice
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS
  • High proficiency in SQL
  • Working experience with Python APIs and data management packages such as Pandas or PySpark required
  • Predictive modeling techniques and statistics using Python, Machine Learning, AI, NLP experience is a plus
  • Excellent understanding of relational data structures and optimization techniques
  • Knowledge of system security and service-oriented architecture
  • Experience in Agile and /or Waterfall methodology
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment with little or no supervision
  • Maintains a high level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism
