Role Overview

The Planning Supervisor is a vital member of the Operations team, reporting directly to the Materials Manager. Their main responsibilities include developing and implementing robust planning strategies to ensure efficient delivery of goods and services. This role focuses on optimizing cash flow through meticulous inventory management, maintaining a balance between cost-effectiveness and product availability. As a key contributor to the organization's operational excellence, the Planning Supervisor will employ strategic thinking and innovative approaches to maximize resource utilization and streamline the planning process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of planning initiatives to ensure prompt delivery of goods and services while minimizing organizational costs.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to meet business objectives.
  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of planning professionals.
  • Employ analytics, demand forecasting, inventory planning, and supply chain optimization strategies to inform planning decisions.
  • Oversee standardized planning processes and a supplier review program for continuous improvement.
  • Promote process standardization across the organization to reduce costs and enhance team performance.
  • Stay informed on market trends and proactively adapt planning strategies accordingly.
  • Perform regular and ad-hoc analyses to assess the impact of past, current, and anticipated actions.
  • Support the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to maximize profitability.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives within the company's planning processes.
  • Develop and present data-driven recommendations.
  • Identify best practices and implement changes based on findings.


Critical Competencies for Success

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, or Supply Chain/Logistics, preferred.
  • 3- 5 years of proven experience in planning processes and supply chain optimization strategies.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading people and fostering a high-performance, accountable culture.
  • Robust communication skills for effective collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams.
  • Capability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and other analytical tools for data-driven decision-making.
