We're looking for a Dental Hygiene Assistant, who is driven, patient-centric, and a team player, for our practice in Port Jefferson Station, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience in the field of dentistry and a commitment to grow and innovate to best serve our patients. You'll be responsible for preparing treatment rooms, patients, instruments, and materials, as well as compliantly delivering procedures and protocols.

Schedule:

Monday & Wednesday: 9AM – 6PM

Tuesday & Thursday: 8AM – 5PM

Friday: 9AM – 5PM

Responsibilities:

• Assist in providing a safe, comforting, and welcoming exam room atmosphere
• Sterilize and deliver instruments to treatment area, position and pass instruments and materials, suction, and expose/develop radiographic studies
• Pour, trim, and polish study casts and removable appliances
• Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and calling for repairs
• Track inventory levels, anticipate needed supplies, and verify receipt of supplies
• Document dental care services by charting in patient records
• Prepare and sanitize exam room and take ex-rays
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
• Diploma or certificate from an approved Dental Assistant program as accredited by CODA
• Current NY DA license, or NY DANB CDA, ICE & RHS Certifications (depending on state requirements)
• CPR Certification
• 2 years of dental office experience (Required)
