Basic Qualifications:

An Associate's degree or another 2-year technical degree in a related discipline and 3 years experience of related experience or a combination of education and experience can be used in lieu of a degree (HS diploma and 7 years in a related field).

Preferred Design Disciplines:

Bachelor's degree in a related degree

Job Description:

Utilize computer-aided design equipment such as CAD to design 3D models of strongbacks, structural support towers, and other components. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture and availability of materials.

Create construction drawings from 3D models

Oversee fabrication of all Ingalls fixtures Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM or CATIA. Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications. Exclude classifications in which incumbents predominantly perform drafting assignments.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $32.00 - $35.00 per hour
