Prime Partners Engineering, LLC is a full-service project management, design engineering and dry utility consulting firm. The company has expertise in all aspects of electrical distribution design including residential and commercial projects, utility system improvements, solar, and complex network design. Job Description:

The Project Engineer will be responsible for engineering and technical disciplines within a project life cycle. This position will schedule, plan, forecast, procure, and manage all the technical activities aiming at ensuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

Primary Duties:

  • Engineer and monitor engineering designs to ensure proper standards, procedures and specifications are adhered to throughout the project timeline.
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned engineering projects.
  • Build and oversee the framework used to create project trackers and reports.
  • Manage project data to ensure proper reporting and storage which include but not limited to; application for service, field data, service calculations, feasibility studies, project timelines, invoices, budgets and design materials.
  • Develop and coordinate the framework for field investigations and inspections.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure permits are obtained on time.
  • Manage project report submissions to internal and external clients.
  • Communicate daily with internal and external stakeholders to obtain deliverables, requirements, and relevant data to ensure projects are progressing and completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage and address client questions or concerns and/or complaints in a professional manner.
  • Assist with bid packages preparation by developing the scope of work for engineering designs and construction drawings.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with project managers and other key stakeholders to provide engineering oversight and technical support.
  • Perform QA/QC analysis and develop corrective actions recommendations.
  • Coordinate with construction to ensure resources and material are procured in a timely manner.

Position Requirements:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • 1-3 years of internal utility company experience or equivalent experience, including advance degree achievements.
  • Proven working experience in project management.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theories.
  • Knowledge of engineering with regulations, guides, standards, codes, methods, and practices necessary to perform assignments for a specific discipline, various installation, or services.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of operating and construction work practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to support and enforce a safe work behavior; requires working knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge, understanding, and experience of Electric Utility Engineering practices.
  • Ability to independently represent the Company in various industry, regulatory forums, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Ability to perform highly complex analysis; formulate recommendations to improve current processes; make sound decisions; understand industry and regulatory trends; evaluate impact of new developments and information involving market conditions.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, holidays and weekends as required.
  • Ability and willingness to adhere to Federal, State, Local and company safety regulations and policies. Ability and willingness to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time (for example, lifting, entering/existing manhole covers, climbing ladders and scaffolding, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pulling/pushing, standing, walking, and squatting).
  • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of work environments including outdoors in all weather conditions, on or around energized equipment, in confined spaces, underground, in heavy traffic and in noisy and dirty environments with proper Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to various Company locations and work sites.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass the Criminal History Background Check which consists of a 7-year criminal record for felony convictions.
  • Must successfully pass a medical screening to include drug test.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in project management/Business/Engineering
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Engineering in Training (EIT)
  • Two or more years of professional engineering experience.
  • Experience with Primavera P6.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or design software.
  • Experience with Redwave
  • Experience with GIS/GWD
  • Experience with AS8 (Asset Suite 8)
  • Experience with Jira Software.
  • Experience with Power BI.
