Overview
The Developer SAP BW4/HANA's role is to design, develop and enhance software applications. This can also include translating business requirements from functional specifications into technical requirements for development, application evaluation, application configuration, application and integration testing as well as completing appropriate change management documentation.
The Senior Developer will also be responsible for delivering support to end users in the organization for specific software applications. This includes troubleshooting applications (providing Level Three support) and software for all internal end users and external customers to resolve trouble issues per documented trouble tickets
Specialized Skills and Technologies
- Experience in BW 7.5 on HANA or BW/4HANA (Preferred)
- Experience on LSA++ and all Design and Modeling aspects in SAP BW
- Experience writing/maintaining ABAP Code for Custom Extractors, Transformations, etc.
- Experience with regular SAP BW Production Support tasks and activities, Process Chains configuration and maintenance
- Experience with SAP ECC internal workings related to SAP BW: Standard and Custom Datasources, LO Cockpit, ODP configuration and maintenance
- Familiar with SAP Roadmap and basic understanding of HANA and its integration in SAP BW
Primary Responsibilities
- Determine opportunities to streamline application support activities to achieve more efficient, timely, and cost-effective application support results
- Provide Level Two 24X7 support for software applications under area of responsibility
- Develop user documentation and participate in user training when needed
- Assist in resolving complex data and application issues
- Assist in the design, delivery, and improvement of software applications when called upon to do so
- Stay up to date on software applications under area of responsibility to always ensure the highest level of service and support to the organization
- Obtain any certifications needed to be able to effectively support applications in scope
- Mentor peers to help them build capabilities
- Document troubleshooting instructions (continuous improvement)
- Improve efficiency of team to resolve problems
Preferred Qualifications
- Practical experience from actual SAP BW Implementations
- SAP BW Development: ADSOs, Composite Providers, Logical Dataflows, Reports, Standard and Custom Extractors based on ODP Platform
- Transport Management System
- Experience using Eclipse IDE
- Experience on SAP ECC as it relates to SAP BW processes and dependencies
- Experience with custom Datasources development, standard Datasources enhancements, LO Cockpit and ODP Platform-based Extraction processes
- Experience using and supporting Analysis for Office as main front-end tool for users
- Data savvy. Ability to translate Business Requirements into efficient future-proof solutions
- Strong Data Modeling and Abstract Thinking skills
- SAP BW Production Support: Process Chains design and maintenance, DTO Management
- Ability to think out of the box and react to changing Business requirements/needs without impacting efficiency and quality
- ABAP Programming: DTP Routines, custom Datasource enhancements
- Basis understanding of Security in SAP BW and SAP in general
- Clear understanding of Enterprise Data Warehouse and Data Modeling concepts and principles
- Clear understanding of SAP Roadmap and its integration with non-SAP Platforms
- Strong communication skills – written, verbal, persuasion, motivation, facilitation of strong working relationships
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, analytical/problem solving, problem management, presentation development, presentation, and communications skills

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
- Strong organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills
- 2-7 years of experience in SAP BW, looking for opportunities to learn and growth knowledge and experience on this Platform, from design and modeling to day-to-day Production Support and troubleshooting
- Experience in IT, with a focus on development and application support
- Experience in modeling, programming and support of SAP BW dataflows, from Extractors to Queries
