Under the leadership of the Chief People Officer, the Talent Development & Learning Director will guide the development, design, and implementation of high-impact talent development programs (training, cohort programs, organizational development, eLearning, etc.) that drive employee experience across the affiliate. In this role, you will shape the development and delivery of management and leadership training programs, develop programs to address critical skill gaps, and help adapt our workforce to meet long-term goals. In addition, you will direct the strategic planning, design, implementation, maintenance, and administration of all training and development solutions, including the learning management system (LMS), to meet PPMW's objectives today, as well as tomorrow.


This is a very hands-on leadership role aimed at driving the talent development and learning strategies that develop our people, increase retention, and yield targeted outcomes. The Director will be expected to cultivate strong, collaborative partnerships across the organization, leverage trends and insights to develop talent solutions, and demonstrate a measurable impact on learning for both talent and organizational needs.

Requirements:

Talent Development

  • Oversee the development and implementation of employee training and learning functions within the organization, including in-person training, on-line (synchronous and asynchronous), and experience-based learning opportunities.
  • Execute strategy for career management priorities, prepare communication plans around implementation, as well as take a leadership role in execution of any revamping efforts.
  • Be the central point person for PPMW personnel as it relates to career development topics and act as an advisor and/or coach on career goals and interests.
  • Ensure performance management program is adopted and utilized to increase employee engagement and overall employee experience.
  • Develop and manage a succession planning program.
  • Champion the Planned Parenthood Experience (PPX) ethos of In This Together and corresponding values and standards across the affiliate.
  • In conjunction with the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Director, ensure the equity, diversity, and inclusion strategy is aligned to talent management. Identify training needs stemming from performance evaluations and succession planning.

Learning

  • In conjunction with ARMS and PPMW subject matter experts (SME) develop content internally and/or engage with outside firms to provide timely, relevant, level appropriate training opportunities across all levels.
  • Serve as SME on career management; stay abreast of current trends and innovative tools and methods.
  • Curate content from the Center for Affiliated Learning System (CALS) and Paylocity's Learning Management System and communicate offerings to the employees.
  • Provide insight and recommend best practice tools, technology and learning systems to expand the reach and effectiveness of training curricula.
  • Create engaging learning activities, exercises, and compelling course content that enhances the learning process, retention and knowledge transfer.
  • Work collaboratively across departments to develop training programs within their areas of expertise to educate all employees.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required with a concentration in human resources, organizational development, business, or a related degree a plus.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience preferred in human resources and learning and development, and/or curriculum design and development in a nonprofit.
  • Demonstrated outcomes serving in a training and development, instructional design, or closely related field.
  • Experience with current L&D trends, tech-forward approaches, and agile methodologies.
  • Ability to employ adult learning principles and innovative strategies.
  • Comfortable speaking to small, medium, and large sized groups either in-person or via web conference.
  • Good written and communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to meet multiple competing deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively collect, analyze, evaluate, and prepare learning statistical data.
  • Certifications in leadership training models, and other learning modalities, a plus.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and learning management software.
  • Passion for Planned Parenthoods mission and the ability to communicate that passion to others.

Travel Requirements:

Up to 30% travel between PPMW sites and domestic travel for professional development.
