Job Description:

The PACE Dietitian is responsible for providing nutrition care and education to PACE participants. He/she evaluates participants' nutritional status, develops and implements nutritional care plans, assesses nutrient requirements, recommends nutritional prescriptions, evaluates participant tolerance and effectiveness of nutritional care and communicates nutritional data and information to the physician and other health professionals. He/She must function well in a team environment and possess good organizational, communication, and supervisory skills.

Qualifications/Education/Licensure:

Required: Baccalaureate or advanced degree with major studies in food and nutrition or dietetics from an institution accredited by the American Dietetic Association (ADA).

Required Experience: Must have at least one year's experience working with the frail and/or elderly. Must be able to teach, think analytically and relate to geriatric patients.

Preferred Experience: 2-5 years of working with geriatric patients.

Required Certification & Licensures: Must have active registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association or be eligible to sit for exam for Registered Dietitian and must obtain certification within 1 year of hire. Valid Virginia driver's license.
